After Hannes Smith paid tribute to the beauty of melancholy and loneliness on his last single "Herzsprung", he this time around has connected melancholy with the necessary push to the dance floor on "1723”.
"1723" is another typical melancholic, crispy heart beat Hannes needed to get rid off. He teamed up with cellist Veronique Jacques from Montreal who has already been recording cello for 19810, Without Nothing, Warnemuende. 1723 is another prove of seamless and thrilling music created by the help of the Internet.
"Kaezundmausestampfer" is the most pulsating edit on the EP and gives us a more unknown look into the darker sides of Hannes Smith’s soul with very determined brute sounds. Here he shows us what can happen with this kind of original sound material when he is given free reign.
"Edith Dreiangel's" temper gallops somewhere in between some old cinemtiac animation music and this weird feeling of a rejected heart. Hannes’ used all remaining cello recordings to put the whole original material in a completely different time.
"1723" is great fodder for DJs who have the courage to get emotional! Let’s play!
